 Lessons of Yesterday

The Pensive Pirate  Taking the lessons of yesterday is never easy. Accepting the fact that you are human and imperfect is in fact what actually makes you perfect. Learning that the party was not the most important part of it all was a painful road to travel. Coming to find the community was in fact where the love was born. The type of community that you could not find anywhere else in America. Learning that family is where the light has always been. Family that is tied by blood beyond the physical genealogy.

A gathering of family, friends and soon to be friends, was where the light caught my eye. The few you could call on in a moments notice to help in a time of need. The few you could call family and know that despite any obstacle they would give their best effort to support you in any capacity. Living a life filled with this knowledge, I still was able to hurt each of them once or twice. Deeds done without malice, but rather by ignorance. Living a life with an affinity of compassion, understanding and support for one another is why I believe we are on this path.

The family that stayed regardless of action or attitude were and are the ones that reside in my heart. Self fulfilling actions or motives were seldom present, that was where the positive correlation was to be found after all.
